Mountains or Valleys. Why not both.

Taking inspiration from the sense of freedom in flight captured by the Escarpment Estate’s Ooruri Residence, Shirofukuro is perched high above the tree line, offering uninterrupted breathtaking views of Mt Yotei and the Niseko Valley. Taking the concept to new heights, Hikohito Konishi Architects designed an eclectic contemporary modern home with disconnected floating levels to truly capture the sense of freedom and ability to disconnect from the hustle and bustle of the village or city life.

Brought to life in 2016 by Sudo Constructions, the 4 bedroom, 3 bathroom home boasts an interior that delightfully contrasts its’ modern exterior with a mix of traditional Japanese finishes personally selected by the owners. Concrete, natural cedar planking and even tatami make up a base of finishes that perfectly complement the owner’s personal art collection.

Marrying form and function, the home also features a maids-room, an elevator, a double car garage with double height ceiling, and a separate single car garage for a growing car collection. In the colder months, the floor to ceiling windows that wrap around the two floors offer panoramic views to be taken in beside a warm fireplace. As the seasonal tapestry changes, the massive outdoor decks are the perfect option for enjoying another unforgettable sunset on those cool summer evenings.
