About Us

Hokkaido Tracks was established in 2003 by three individuals who shared a passion for skiing, a fascination with Niseko and a love for the abundance of powder snow. Their vision was to introduce an innovative hospitality and accommodation model based on their experience from international ski fields across the world.

These individuals were Matt Dening, Simon Robinson, and Joasia Francki. Going against early advice, they built the area's first western style apartment: First Tracks; a ski-in, ski-out 4-unit complex. The apartment complex was a first for Niseko. Stylish and chic, it combined western and Japanese influences with contemporary design and alpine architecture. Today it remains one of the highest demand rental properties in Niseko.

First tracks was a small step, but some say, the catalyst for the discovery of Niseko by the world ski market. Since 2003 Hokkaido Tracks has come to develop and manage over 180 properties in Niseko and continue to show innovation and foresight this unique market.
